Asturias' Nature and Culture in the Botanical Garden in Gijon

Why Debora recommends this park

The Botanical Garden in Gijon is a hidden gem that not many international visitors know about. With its 25 ha, it's a perfect place to escape the city. There's a fun natural labyrinth (also for adults!) and a playground for the kids. Also, there are hiking routes of 1, 1.5 and 2 hours through which you get to know the most important flora of Spain and Europe in general. If you're lucky, you'll even spot some foxes, wild boars, badgers or otters! Hence, if you do not have the time to explore Asturias' beautiful nature, I recommend you to at least visit the Botanical Garden!

Good to know

The Botanical garden is closed on Mondays. There's a bus stop in front of the Garden (line 1 and 18 bring you there in 20 minutes from the bus station in Gijon). There's all kind of activities organized through the year, so it's worthy to check their website beforehand!
