Why Nasim loves this neighborhood
Glockenbach is one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Munich, a hidden gem! It hosts an interesting mix of cosy cafes, restaurants and a huge variety of small shops. Every small street out of Gärtnerplatz (where the famous Gärtner theater is also located) is full of those!
In contrast to the lively part of Glockenbach, there is also the oldest cemetery in Munich, Alter Südfriedhof, which is an architectural beauty!
In short, it's a mix of pre history and post modern culture that go hand in hand!
Things you should not miss
Gärtnerplatz and Gärtnerthater is the heart of the neighborhood! The square it self is always garnished with seasonal flowers and all the streets leading to this square are fully of interesting small local shops, cafes, and pubs. In good weather the square itself becomes an attraction for many socializing over a bit or a drink from the shops around.
Also, Checkout the crazy icecream maker (Which has the weirdest flavors of Ice cream you will ever taste! including beer ice cream and vegetables sorts of ice cream! all amazingly delicious) and even the old southern cemetery, Alter Südfriedhof!
